ok trying this post again. I thought i fixed the length bug on my blog engine but I ended up pushing the code from a different application I was working on, so this is a my second attempt at testing the length shortening method. *crosses fingers* and hopes it works

@VictusFate thats what i created by blog engine for. if i want to tweet something > 140 chars, i can just make an entry and it auto creates a link to the article so i don't have to worry about conforming to twitters limit to express myself :)

finally got my blog code to work. yay! ok I think im taking a small break from this app for now. Will actually use it instead of developing it. I've noticed most innovation comes about because the innovater needs the tool to do what they want. Since people have similar needs, it usually turns out that other people like that person's innovation

I just updated my blog engine so that longer posts go to twitter. There was a bug that stopped long posts from being sent to twitter. So hopefully this will solve the problem!

It's interesting developing webapps in that, when you deploy to a production server, murphy's law likes to kick in and show you who's boss. Everything that worked great in your local setup is now completey b0rked in version that your would love to run perfectly. Many times has my co-founder emailed me freaked out that the server is down because i made some small mistake somewhere that caused the server to fail. I have a new respect for people who can't make mistakes in their jobs (like surgeons)

Today I went to a tweetup over at @amauiblog's house. Super fun stuff. I got to meet @peterliu47, @raatz, @jmarilyn, @jalove, @alohakathy, @kifn, @tikitales and @tommyrusso, i don't think i'm forgetting anyone else. People on this island are super nice and easy going. Wife is almost done getting ready. woohoo. shes finishing putting the cookies in the container and asking me if i mapped our route. she forgot iphone has GPS. i forgive her. he's not totally ignornant about that stuff, she has a blackberry 8310 (she knew the model number off the top of her head)
